How to connect your eBay account

Connect your eBay seller account to FASTTOO Variation Editor, check the correct seller is linked, and learn how to reconnect or disconnect safely.

Before you can fetch a listing or submit a variation-name change, connect the eBay seller account that owns the listing. FASTTOO Variation Editor sends you to eBay to review and grant access, then returns you to the app.

Before you begin

  • Sign in to your own FASTTOO Variation Editor account.
  • Make sure you can sign in to the eBay seller account you intend to use.
  • If you use more than one eBay account in the same browser, check carefully which account is signed in on eBay.
  • Never send your eBay password or verification codes to FASTTOO support or anyone else.

Your FASTTOO account email and eBay account email do not have to be the same. What matters for editing is that the listing belongs to the connected eBay seller account.

Step 1: Open the connection controls

In the seller dashboard, open My eBay Connection. You may also see a Connect eBay button on the overview or editor when no seller account is connected.

If you are an administrator viewing the admin dashboard, select Switch to Seller to use the seller workspace.

Step 2: Continue to eBay

Select the available Connect eBay or Connect to eBay button. The browser takes you to eBay to sign in and authorize the connection.

Check that the account you are authorizing is the seller that owns your listings. If eBay is already signed in to another account, use eBay’s account-switching or sign-out controls before granting access.

Step 3: Review and grant access

On eBay’s application-access page, review the application name, requested permissions and policy links. Continue only if you are satisfied that you are authorizing the intended application.

Select Agree and Continue if you want to connect. If you choose not to grant access, the connection will not complete and you can start again later.

Granting access does not itself rename a variation or purchase credits. Listing changes still require you to choose a listing, prepare a preview and confirm the update in the app.

Step 4: Check the connected seller

After authorization, allow eBay to return you to FASTTOO Variation Editor. Open My eBay Connection and check:

  • Seller account: the eBay seller name you intended to connect.
  • Status: the connection is active.

Do not assume the connection completed just because you reached eBay’s access page. Verify the status after returning to FASTTOO.

When the connection and editing access are available, select Open Editor to continue.

Step 5: Fetch a listing you own

In the editor, enter the eBay item ID and select Fetch listing. Check the title and seller before preparing a rename.

The listing must belong to the connected seller. Use the item number, not a SKU or order number. Connecting an account does not import all your listings into a bulk editor.

For the next steps, read How to rename an eBay variation name.

When should I reconnect?

If the app reports that your connection has expired or is no longer active, open My eBay Connection and select Reconnect to eBay when it is available.

  1. Authorize the intended seller account on eBay again.
  2. Return to FASTTOO and check the seller name and connection status.
  3. Before starting a new rename, fetch the listing again and prepare a fresh preview.

If an earlier operation is pending or unconfirmed, check Activity History first. Reconnecting does not prove that an earlier rename failed, and it is not a reason to submit the same update again.

How to disconnect

Open My eBay Connection, select Disconnect and read the confirmation before proceeding.

Disconnecting stops the app from using the active connection to fetch or edit listings. It does not close your eBay account or reverse listing changes that have already completed.

If an operation is still pending, resolve or check it before trying to switch sellers. The app may restrict a seller change while a previous result remains unresolved.

Common connection problems

The wrong seller is connected

Stop before editing. Check which account is signed in on eBay, then use the connection controls to authorize the correct seller. If the app blocks the change because of a pending operation, check that operation first rather than trying to bypass the restriction.

eBay says access was cancelled

If you cancelled or declined the authorization request, no new connection was completed. Return to the connection page and start again when you are ready.

The eBay account is already linked to another application account

The same eBay seller cannot be linked to two different FASTTOO application accounts at the same time. Use the FASTTOO account that already owns the connection, or contact support if you need help recovering access. Matching email addresses alone do not establish ownership or transfer credits.

Connection controls are temporarily unavailable

The app may temporarily pause new connections or editing during a connection update or maintenance. Read the notice shown in the app and follow its recovery instructions. Do not repeatedly create new accounts or grant access in an attempt to bypass the pause.

The page returns, but the connection is not active

Read any error or status message, check your internet connection and try the authorization flow again if appropriate. If the problem continues, use the Contact Us page and provide the exact message and the step where it happened. Hide private information in screenshots.

Does reconnecting give another free trial?

No. A free trial rename is available only when the app account and eBay seller account meet the eligibility rules. Reconnecting, disconnecting or creating another login does not reset a previously used trial.

Connection checklist

  • You are signed in to the correct FASTTOO account.
  • You authorized the intended seller on eBay.
  • The app shows the expected seller name and an active connection.
  • The item you want to edit belongs to that seller.
  • You have checked any pending operation before retrying or switching sellers.

Before making your first change, read Before you rename a variation. If a rename cannot proceed, see Why eBay rejects a variation rename.
